Japan Blog December 2012 #2

Here is Madoka-san and her sweet 3 year old daughter Aoi in the bamboo forest in Kyoto. The day was gorgeous and sunny. There was a fall nip in the air. We got off the train and Aoi saw a map that showed that you could visit monkeys if you hiked up a mountain behind Kyoto. She was a trouper and hiked all the way up. Madoka carried her back down on this sweet little pink bottom sling. You can see that Aoi is in the sling here. After the hike we took a relaxing boat ride up the mystical river in Kyoto. The boatsman shared that this river was restricted to the very elite royalty when the emporer lived in Kyoto.

We were quite chilled after the boat ride and sat down to a steaming bowl of udon noodles for lunch right on the river. After lunch we went for a short hike and discovered this magical bamboo forest. It was so quiet there even with a lot of people snapping photos and walking by.

We stopped to sample some Macha being ground in a local tea shop. I stocked up before we jumped on the train back to Osaka. It was a heavenly day off with my dear friend and her adorable daughter.

The students  through deep self-iquiry learn to apply the teachings of Anusara® Yoga to their lives.  It is so heart warming to see this community gathering around Anusara® teachings again.  Thank you Tomoko-san and  your great communtiy here in Osaka for sponcering this trip.
